[she keeps hold of his hand, gripped tight.]

[ gently, he strokes her hand with his thumb. ]

That sounds like something I'd do. [ wryly. he's... very carefully not reacting or thinking about basilio suffering like that, and also he's not thinking about the fact that this memory used him to hurt wis'adel. it's just bad news bears for his mental state.

[ silence, for a moment, and then: ]

I suppose I didn't survive the explosion. [ he figures that'd hurt the most. ]

[he doesn't need to know the details.]

[ a little sigh, and then he shifts so he can sit next to her, tail settling on her lap. ]

... I'm here now.

I know. I know you are, everyone's fine, just.

[carefully stroking his fur with the hand that this hurts less with.]

[ his tail floofs up to make it easier for her to pet. ]
